Rogers Chocolates
Another Canadian chocolate maker, Rogers' Chocolates, has received the prestigious 2006 Superior Taste Award from the International Taste & Quality Institute (ITQI), an independent organization of leading sommeliers, beverage experts, and gourmet chefs, based in Brussels, Belgium.
Classy, refined and elegant, were just a few of the words used to describe the 120-year-old company’s chocolate line. The discerning panel of European chefs also identified the Rogers’ Assortment as a "top-of-the-range-product,” filled with abundant and rich chocolate aromas.

Olena Zylak designs
After knitting her first sweater at the age of 17, Olena Zylak discovered her calling in life, and bought her first hand-knitting machine. Over the next few years she knit sweaters for virtually everyone she knew, and began her professional career as a costume builder for large musical productions such as Ragtime, Showboat, Tommy and Fosse.
In the summer of 1997, Zylak moved on from the world of theatre to create her own knitwear line. Her work in theatre costume nurtured her use of hand-worked techniques and attention to detail that are the hallmark of the Olena Zylak collection. Zylak uses imported yarns in luxury fibres to create a highly textured line that is at once precious and fragile, as well as sexy and strong.

The design of the Judaica collection from Spode is based on Jewish manuscripts from the 1880s influenced by early ceramic tile. "I am proud to carry this collection in honour of my great grandfather," says Isabella Sorce, owner of Precious Things N More, 163 Locke St. S. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, begins at sundown on Friday.
